Dear Visitor,
I am pleased to welcome you to the website of the Permanent Representation of the Republic of Slovenia to the Council of Europe in Strasbourg. Our website includes an overview of key information relating to the operation of our Mission. I hope that you will find useful information. Please feel free to send us your questions about anything that interests you.
Slovenia became a member of the Council of Europe on 14th May 1993 and quickly asserted itself as a successful member with a recognized high degree of respect for human and minority rights as well as strong rule of law. In 2009, the chairmanship of the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe presented itself both as a particular challenge and an opportunity for Slovenia.
This year we will celebrate the 20th anniversary of our membership in the oldest pan-European organization, that we intend to mark on the 10th June 2013 with a concert of the Strasbourg Philharmonic Orchestra lead by the Slovenian conductor Marko Letonja and a possible presence of the President of the Republic of Slovenia Borut Pahor.
The Permanent representation of the Republic of Slovenia to the Council of Europe aims at keeping you up-to-date on all events related to Slovenia and the Council of Europe through our main internet site as well as through our Facebook page.
